Program History

  • 2001 - Yarmouth Youth Football is started. Chris Pingitore and Tim Planer start the first Yarmouth Youth Football Team (Yarmouth Pirates) with 14 players

  • 2004 - Yarmouth High School (YHS) Football is started

    •  YHS plays in the Maine Development League

    • Jim Hartman joins program as High School Head Coach

    •  Yarmouth Football Assocation (YFA) is founded by Chris Pingitore & Bob Watterson 

  • 2005 - YHS plays in Development League and finishes season 6-1

    •   Chris Pingitore named new Middle School Head Coach

  • 2006 - YHS plays in Development League and finishes season 6-2

  • 2007 - YHS completes its 1st year as a Maine Principal's Association (MPA) sanctioned varsity high school program finishing the season 0-9 in Class C West.

  • 2008 - YHS earns its 1st MPA sanctioned varsity victory beating Madison 22-14 on 10/3/08

  • 2009 - YHS finishes regular season 6-2 (7th seed) in Class C West​

    •  #7 Yarmouth upsets #2 Livermore Falls in the quarterfinals 38-28

    •  #7 Yarmouth upsets #3 Old Orchard Beach in overtime in the semifinals 34-28. 

    •  #7 Yarmouth loses to #1 Dirigo in the Conference Championship 7-41. 

    •  Yarmouth Pirates Youth JV team wins the Maine Youth State Championship beating Rockland 20-14 to complete an 11-0 season

  • 2010 - YHS finishes regular season 8-0 (1st place) in Class C West​

    •  #1 Yarmouth beats #8 Maranacook in the Quarterfinals 54-6. 

    •  #1 Yarmouth beats #5 Oak Hill in the Semifinals 28-7.Joe Ingalls - Middle School Head Coach

    •  #1 Yarmouth beats #2 Lisbon in the Conference Championship 16-14. 

    •  #1 Yarmouth (11-0) beats #1 Stearns (11-0) to win the 2010 Maine Class C State Championship and finish the season 12-0

  • 2011 - YHS finishes the regular season 8-0 (1st place) in Class C West

    •  #1 Yarmouth beats #8 Oak Hill in the Quarterfinals 45-6. 

    •  #1 Yarmouth beats #4 Lisbon in the Semifinals 38-0

    •  #1 Yarmouth beats #2 Traip Academy in the Conference Championship 14-0

    •  #1 Yarmouth (11-0) beats #1 Bucksport (11-0) to win the 2011 Maine Class C State Championship 41-14 and finish the season 12-0

    •  Yarmouth Middle School wins the Lewiston Senior Division Invitational Tournament beating Lake Region and going 4-0 in tournament play

  • 2012 - YHS finishes regular season 2-6 (8th place) in Class C West

    •  #8 Yarmouth loses at #1 Winslow in the Quarterfinals 50-22, finishes the season 2-7

  • 2013 - YHS finishes regular season 6-2 (4th place) in the new 4 classes Class C West​​

    •  #4 Yarmouth loses to #5 Cape Elizabeth in the Quarterfinals 27-14

    •  YHS JV team finishes season undefeated 9-0

    •  #5 Yarmouth upsets #4 Cape Elizabeth in the Quarterfinals 14-12 

    •  #5 Yarmouth loses at #1 Leavitt in the Semifinals 30-6, finishes season 6-4

    • Jason Veilleux named the new High School Head Coach

    • Sam Eddy named the new Middle School Head Coach

  • 2015 - YHS finishes regular season 8-0 (1st place) in Class C South

    •  #1 Yarmouth defeats #8 Mountain Valley 50-15 in the Quarterfinals

    •  #1 Yarmouth defeats #4 Fryeburg 54-12 in the Semifinals​

    •  #1 Yarmouth defeats #3 Wells 17-14 in the Conference Championship

    •  #1 Yarmouth loses to Winslow (10-0) 10-24 in the Class C State Championship, finishes season 11-1

  • 2016 - YHS finishes regular season 3-5 (7th place) in Class C South​

    •  #7 Yarmouth loses to #2 Wells 12-56 in the Quarterfinals, finishes season 3-6

  • 2017 - YHS finishes regular season 2-6 (8th place) in Class C South​

    •  #8 Yarmouth loses to #1 Leavitt 7-48 in the Quarterfinals, finishes season 2-7

  • 2018 - YHS finishes regular season 3-5 (7th place) in Class C South

    •  #7 Yarmouth loses to #2 Fryeburg 6-38 in the Quarterfinals, finishes season 3-6. 

  • 2019 - YHS completes its 1st year in the 8 Man Large League varsity high school program finishing the season 4-4 (4th place)​

    •  #4 Yarmouth loses at #2 Mt. Ararat in the Semifinals 20-55, finishes season 4-5

    • Jim Hartman named the new High School Head Coach

    • Sam Eddy - Middle School Head Coach

  • 2020 - Season canceled due to Covid-19 pandemic 

  • 2021 - YHS finishes regular season 1-7 (6th place) in 8 Man Large​

    •  #6 Yarmouth loses at #1 Spruce Mountain in the Quarterfinals 20-55, finishes season 1-8

  • 2022 - YHS finishes the regular season 7-1 (2nd place) in 8 Man Large South

    •  #2 Yarmouth defeats #3 Spruce Mountain 46-0 in the Quarterfinals

    •  #2 Yarmouth upsets #1 Mt. Ararat 20-18 in the Conference Championship. 

    •  #2 Yarmouth (9-1) beats #3 Waterville (6-3) to win the 2022 Maine 8 Man Large State Championship 30-26 and finish the season 10-1
