Chad Benedict

MS Head Coach

Coach Benedict played Youth, Middle and High School Football (fun fact – he played against Coach Jabar in High School.  Coach Jabar was the Waterville QB and Coach Benedict was the Cony QB. Coaching History: Coordinated with Yarmouth to have a combined Yarmouth-Freeport Pee Wee team in 2010, Freeport’s first-ever Pee Wee players (forever grateful to Coach Tobias for willing to take on some Falcons).  Head Coach at the Youth Level for 5 years, Middle School Head Coach for 4 years and Assistant High School Coach, Offensive Coordinator, for 9 years. Coach Benedict is the proud father of two boys who played football from Youth to College and will forever be thankful for every sideline that he got to share with them.  Coach has a degree in Architecture but his passion for working with kids led him to teaching approx. 10 years ago.  He is currently a teacher at Brunswick Junior HS.  He is an avid New York Yankees fan, will watch any Rocky movie whenever it is on, loves music and attends roughly half a dozen concerts a year.  He also enjoy cooking dinner for his family every night as the team's practice schedule will allow.

From Coach: You live a lifetime in a football game and I so look forward to this season and joining the Yarmouth Clippers Football Family!

Coach Hunter is thrilled to be a part of the Yarmouth Middle School football team coaching staff. He grew up in Falmouth and began playing in the third grade as a defensive back. With over a decade of playing experience, he was lucky to have played nearly all the offensive and defensive positions. He credits the game with teaching him teamwork, persistence, attention to detail, and hard work. After many years away from the game, he’s excited to be back in football as a coach.

Coach Matt is a native Mainer and has lived in Yarmouth for the past 12 years with his wife Erin and his five children; three boys and two girls. He is 45 years old, and professionally works as the chief executive officer of a public policy think tank. He has been involved with coaching youth athletes for the entirety of his adult life. In high school and college, he was a competitive swim coach in Hampden, coaching both boys and girls from age 6 through 14. After starting his family, he became involved in coaching baseball, which he has continued to do every year for the last 15 years. Currently he serves  as the president of Yarmouth Little League and has also coached basketball for several years. He has also been involved in Yarmouth's football program, most recently coaching flag football teams for his second son Owen and coaching tackle for his oldest son. He is excited to help coach middle school football and help the program with his solid understanding of the game of football, the rules, drills, and strategies. Coach Matt is a teacher at heart and enjoys helping young athletes gain skills and understanding of the sports they play.

Coach Matt has demonstrated his committment to the Yarmouth Football Program not only through his coaching but also by joining the Yarmouth Football Association as an incoming Board Member, as well as calling the High School football games from the announcer's booth for the past nine years!
