Leaving Yarmouth with a 33-20 overall record, he became the head coach at Portland High school for seven seasons. He led the Portland Bulldogs to three State Championship games and an overall record of 58-22. He was very excited to return to coach the Clippers in 2021 and lead the team in winning the 2022 State Championship. He has a 103-48 record and has led his teams to nine Conference Championship games and six State title games. Coach Hartman lives in Portland with his wife Penny. When he's not coaching up the next generation of student athletes, he enjoys spending time with his three children, their spouses and his seven grandchildren.

Prior to joining the Yarmouth staff, Dylan was the assistant defensive coordinator for Portland High School (the Bulldogs lost in the 2022 state championship final). Coach Dylan is also the First Team basketball coach and a varsity assistant in the Clippers basketball program. One of Dylan’s strengths is his keen ability to relate to his players. An excellent motivator, Coach Dylan brings a new level of excitement and enthusiasm to our program. A South Portland High School graduate, Coach Dylan was voted Captain of the Varsity, starting at Wide Receiver and Strong Safety for the Red Riots. As a senior, he led South Portland in interceptions, touchdown receptions, and yards per catch. After high school, Coach Dylan joined the workforce as an entrepreneur.
